It is very unfair that there is NOTHING posted of sweet baby Baldwin #3. Lately we've been going through this blog to show the kids pictures and videos of when they were little. This is such a joy of an activity that I must be sure to have with Kai when he is older too. So I'm a little late but it's finally time to introduce our new baby to babybaldwin.blogspot.com. :)
Well baby Chub was born on August 8th at 2:19pm at Ashley Regional Medical Center here in Vernal. In the hospital we named him Kyle Walter Baldwin but his name transformed into Kai Eli Walter Baldwin(made official the day his dad blessed him on October 21st). He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. He stole each of our hearts from day 1 and in the last 6 months I would estimate he's been the recipient of at least 3 million kisses.
For the sake of record keeping his delivery was pretty much a breeze. My body just kept dilating my last month without the pain of contractions. 36 weeks I was 5 cm. 38 weeks I was 7 cm. 39 weeks I was almost 8 cm so Dr. Breitenbach recommended he break my water so I didn't have my baby on the way to the hospital or worse, while shopping at Walmart. So on August 8th we went in at 7am. I was 8 cm. He broke my water around 10am. Go figure it took 4 hours of pitocin to dilate the remaining 2 cm. Anyway, when it came time it was half a push and he was here.
Clearly he is an excellent eater and has a calm and happy temperament. At his 6 month appointment he weighed in at 20 pounds 5 ounces of pure chubbalubbin!
His nicknames include: Mister Man, Chubalub, Kai-man, and Quinten usually refers to him as "MY baby"
He likes his rice cereal and some of the fruit he's tried but mom hasn't dove into the world of baby food just yet. He can roll over but mostly just wants to stand up(assisted), sit(unassisted), play in his bouncer, or MOST of all be held by Big Momma. One of his favorite activities is to lay on the floor in Ryanna's room while the older two are playing and just be part of the chaos. He will grab at whatever toy, doll or dirty sock is lying nearby and chomp away while "talking" and squawking.
He thinks nothing of being mauled and laid on. In fact, more than once I've come to find him on the bottom of a doggy pile. Of course, I start yelling to GET OFF THE BABY! But I tell you what, the baby is the last one who cares. In fact, he's as happy as can be.
If you can't tell - this little man is an absolute joy!!! We understand if this picture causes you to reach out and kiss on the cheeks nearest you. We are blessed to have those cheeks on hand to squeeze and kiss. We love you our dear Kai Eli!!!!
