Funny Sunday

Sunday is very special to Ryanna because she loves to go to her "class" at church(nursery)and she knows it is the day she can wear a pretty dress all day long. She asks if it is Sunday throughout the week and some days can't bear to hear she can't wear a Sunday dress on a regular week day. It used to be that she changed out of her dress once we got home but the last month or so she has been allowed to wear it all day as long as she tries to be careful and clean. Amazingly she does this and is careful not to get her dress dirty. She even had lasagna for lunch and didn't get a speck of it on the dress! She has also started to get out my "pretty shoes" and tries to clunk around in them. I must admit she isn't all that bad.

This girl LOVES to run. She would probably make a great personal trainer someday because she insists that everyone around her run too. She gives you a "Ready, Set, GO!" and then expects you to follow behind her at quite a quick pace for a 2 year old. If you do not obey her command she will try to get in your face and bully you into it. Tonight I was trying to do the dishes but she wanted me to run with her. She would not take no for an answer so I thought I could handle a few laps. Well 30 laps later, yes I was counting, I was feeling pooped but the energizer bunny was just getting started. I then got out the camara as evidence of the insane running. Notice she keeps an eye behind her to make sure I'm keeping up. Also note her insist that I keep going when I ask to quit. I can honestly say she gave me a workout....maybe I'm pathetic but it's true.

3-d ultrasound

Ultrasounds have come a long way. It's no wonder it takes a trained professional to do it and make sense of it. The technology however has improved so much that if you get lucky they can get great 3-d shots of the baby. In fact I saw one a few months ago of an entire face shot. The little guy is now 3 months old and the ultrasound pic is clear enough someone could look at him now and know that it's him in the ultrasound picture. (did that make sense?) Anyway, we had another ultrasound last Wednesday and I asked the tech to try and get some face shots. The little tyke wasn't very cooperative. He had his face smashed against the placenta and an arm trying block the wand most the time. Still you can see his mouth and nose pretty good. He looks a lot like Ryanna did as a newborn.

So the above pic is the same shot as the one below only in the normal ultrasound technology...2 dimensional....I don't know what to call it. The one below is obviously the 3-d image and you can see his facial features surrounded by lots of other stuff. What a handsome little guy! Bri and I were joking that he looks like an old man, especially in another shot we have but hey, don't most newborns?!?!?!

Cousins!!!!

Brian's brother Dave and his family from Layton visited us on Sunday and Monday. We went to the Dino museum yesterday and had a great time. All the excitement was a bit much for Ryanna by the time we left the museum but what can I say it's probably not the first screaming 2 year old in the museum. We had a great time. Thanks for coming Dave and family!!!!!

Upon my mother's request.....a post of neverending pictures!

For New Years Brian's brother Carl and his family came all the way from Fort Collins, CO. Ryanna was in heaven having 2 girls to run around with and a baby boy to look at. She was allowed to touch his toes and thoroughly enjoyed it. The girls had a great time at our 6pm New Year's Eve party. Listen to Ryanna "blow" on the noise maker. Enjoy the chaos.

Devon awarded us with smiles to melt our hearts. I was lucky enough to catch this one on film.
My main New Year's resolution is to be more domestic by cooking and having a dinner plan for the week. This is the first batch of cinnamon rolls I tried and everyone ate them so that's a good sign. We've also been eating my bread all week which makes me feel like a little Elna. :) Ryanna asks for honey bread every meal giving me motivation to keep this up.
Coloring while wearing a sleeping beauty dress and a pumpkin hat. A daily occurance.
So it has finally happened. Ryanna has moved out of the "baby room" with the crib and is now 100% moved into the "big girl room" with the toddler bed(thanks Josh and Kristen!). Pink bear, Daisy(they puppy from Uncle Jim), and glow baby are her constant companions and she reads to them. She's really growing up!

So here is the Sleeping Beauty dress I bought for her on clearance after Halloween. Behind her is the princess table and chairs from Grandma and Grandpa Scoffield which she loves.
Check out the house she made for her ponies. Maybe she'll be an architect.
Christmas morning fun!
Ryanna's haul: blocks, stroller, dolly, books, puzzles, ponies, clothes, hat from Grandma Baldwin, and Daisy puppy(that Uncle Jim gave her when he visited a few weeks ago).
Brian's haul: 2 video games, clothes, video, pedigree from his Mom
Kristin's gift from Brian: a bench for our entryway to store shoes in. This was exactly what I wanted and am so grateful that Santa delivered!
Here it is. It looks so good! The shoes used to be scattered all over making a mess and looking horrible.
This was the first day we played in the snow and Ryanna had fun.....as long as her boots weren't getting snow on them. She would get upset and say "sorry boots, sorry boots" whenever snow touched them.

It's hilarious to dump an entire bowl of applesauce on our head......why doesn't Mom see the humor?
Ryanna and I read through the nativity story and Ryanna loved it. She wanted to know the name of every piece as we set it up. Her favorite was baby Jesus and all month long she would get out the book and find him.Getting home from church with her hair still in place!!!!
